Give a book this Chistmas!

As the year draws to a close, celebrate Christmas in a different way. Give the special people in your life something they will treasure long after the season is over. Give them a book from the UST Publishing House.

We have more than 50 new titles for you to from. They include books by National Artist for Literature Virgilio S. Almario: JACINTINA (an introduction to the essays of Emilio Jacinto); PITONG BUNDOK NG HARAYA (critical essays), and its translation into English by Marne Kilates, SEVEN MOUNTAINS OF THE IMAGINATION.

The latest work by another National Artist for Literature, Frankie Sionil Jose –GLEANINGS FROM A LIFE IN LITERATURE – is also part of the collection. As are titles by members of the Carlos Palanca Hall of Fame Krip Yuson – LUSH LIFE : ESSAYS 2001-1010), and Jose Dalisay Jr. – PINOY SEPTYCH AND OTHER POEMS.

There are also new essay collections by the anthropologist and Philippine Daily Inquirer columnist Michael L. Tan – THINKING DOING CULTURE; Philippine Daily Inquirer Entertainment Editor Emmie G. Velarde – SHOW BIZ, SERIOUSLY), and Philippine Star columnist Cecile Lopez Lilles – FORTyFIED.

Younger writers are represented by the likes of rock star Lourd de Veyra – SUPERPANALO SOUNDS (a novel) and INSECTISIMO (poetry); Eugene Evasco – MGA PILAT SA PILAK: MGA PERSONAL NA SANAYSAY; and Carlomar Arcangel Daoana CLAIRVOYANCE, poetry.

We also have titles by expat writers, which include ALIEN TO ANY SKIN and BAHA-BAHAGDANG KARUPUKAN (poetry) by Jim Paul Agustin, THE BIG RIVER AND OTHER STORIES by Cesar Leyco Aguila, and EVERYDAY THINGS (poetry) by Fidelito Cortes.

These are only a few of the many titles that could fill your Christmas basket and give your friends or family a pleasant surprise. All titles are available at the UST Publishing House Bookstore on campus and in National Bookstore branches at very affordable prices.
